ERC Experienced Riders Course

Consists of a one day (6-8 hours) skill enhancing course. You ride your own motorcycle and will improve your cornering, braking and swerving skills. Also learn strategies for avoiding road hazards. Opportunity to hone your skills and fine-tune the mental skills needed for survival in traffic. ERC covers protective gear, rider responsibility, motorcycle inspection and care, the effects of alcohol and other drugs on riding, and includes an optional skill evaluation and knowledge test. Some Insurance companies offer discounts to riders who take this course.
Cost $75.00
ERCs are held on the last Wednesday of the month. We can accommodate groups or clubs of up to 10 people. Other Wednesdays may be available if it works better for you.

  • To qualify for participation in the ERC, you must have a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license or temporary motorcycle permit.
  • Cost is $75.00, payment in full must be received prior to beginning of class.
  • Riders must provide a street-legal bike that passes the rider coaches safety inspection.
  • Students must also provide proof of insurance and proof of ownership of the motorcycle. If the motorcycle is not owned by the rider, written approval from the owner to use the motorcycle in the course must be provided.

    A and J Motorcycle Safety School course instructors are certified by MSF and licensed by the state of Maine. Some additional specialized training include: first aid, CPR, motorcycle accident scene management classes, both basic and advanced, and the Motorcycle Safety Foundations experienced riders course.

    Please mail the payment (check or money order) to A and J Motorcycle Safety School. Once payment is received your application will be processed and you will receive confirmation of your class date, location and time.
